Litte snip from an article on this issue.

    Thought in might be interesting.

"Now I do not want to ridicule muslim women, but I do want to ridicule the draconian dress code forced upon them. Muslim women are just as entitled to go to the beach or pool as you or I, and should not be forced to wear this ridculous garb just so they can actually swim. My second point here is that if our beloved Islamic clerics get their way, this will be the summer dress of ALL WOMEN! Now I know I will get replies saying they choose to wear it as good muslim women, and I am sure that some do, but it is amazing what an ingrown fear of reprisal, and hundreds of years of being treated little better than cattle will do. So ladies which would you prefer, because this is your future here."

Let her wear it, then when she tries to save some kid, and he/she chokes her with it, we can laugh at her stupidity.

Forcing only one gender to wear garb for religious purposes dosen't sound very progressive to me. The silence from the progressive community is too loud to ignore.

Unfortunately the YMCA will still get sued, I think this is another place the Hijab should not be worn, I understand the religious thing, but this is a safty issue, she could drown trying to save someones life. People can grab the hijab and pull her head under water and drown her, if she drowns, there is a really good chance the person she is trying to save drowns too. At some point common sense must enter the equation. I grow tired of people bitching about human rights violations when there are none.

what's the C stand for in YMCA/YWCA, hmmmmmmmm? If she's so hot and bothered over her traditional/religious beliefs, why is she working for the infidel apes and swine?

I read about two months ago this Muslim lady in the UK was awarded what turned out to about 8000$ Canadian for the simple reason she insisted on wearing her hijab to work which turned out to be a hair salon. There was no malice on the part of the owner. She just felt she wanted her hairdressers to have their hair in view and understandably looking as professional as possible. Turns out she was just starting her business and paying her out screwed over her business venture big time.

That's because *gasp* you're not supposed to see them and if you do it's tantamount to committing adultery with them.(At least in accordance to Islam)

Because being the very kind-hearted lady she is,she wants to convert us pathetic infidels to Islam, dammit can't you see infinite altruism even when it's looking you straight in the face? :)

No where in the Koran or its source of inspiration, the Bible, does it mention women covering up in tarps. It says that men and women both, should dress modestly.

Good informative post but my understanding is still Muslims consider just glancing at a married woman constitutes adultery. But all that understanding is based on is that's what some oil-field workers I know were instructed on just as a warning when they arrived in the middle east. And in addition to that they were also instructed to wear sunglasses at all times just to further enhance their safety.

as long as it doesn't impeded her ability to swim who cares. My issue is if she has to jump in and save someone will her gear be in the way.

Exactly, this is just some shit brought forward by Muslim men to keep their flock under control.

They must be so afraid that the white guys will rob their possessions because most Arabs are butt ugly.

Why would they make it so Muslim men can marry outside of their religion but its forbidden for a woman?

Horseshit, the whole cult is a joke.
