A Quebec labour ministry tribunal has backed the Hull Hospital's decision to exclude an overweight nurse from its operating room because she sweated too much.

    I bet the union rolled their eyes when they received this grievance, only to realize that they're obligated to follow through on it.

    I have to agree on this one.. as a nurse who has worked with many obese nurses I think they should know themselves that their weight is a work environment hasard... I have seen many who cant function properly. especially in times when you have to be quick on your feet..
    I have seen nurses who became so short of breath running to a code that we almost had to resucitate them... when your weight is a occupational health and safety issue it becomes problematic.. I hate to say it but I had a patient complain one time about the body odour of a nurse who was obese... I have to agree

    The decision seems to be based on health issues, not the woman's bulk.
