"We are convinced after the day we've had that we will have plenty of things to do that will involve, yes, to take risks, but anywhere we will go whether Darfur or Haiti, there are always risks," Dion told reporters in Kabul.

I didn't know the circus was in Kabul, but it must been with these 2 clowns there.

So Stepf and Iggy went to see how Chretiens war is going. So what.
Dion is strangled by the wishes of the previous Liberal government who put them there and believed in the cause of the mission, and Iggy has already been quoted as an advocate of Iraq and so many others, not even the CBC could clean up his image.

Did they talk to Canadian troops? From what we hear on this site, they'd be as popular as freezing rain on a divisonal field exercise.

Our Afghan allies must be shakinhg their heads, almost as much as the Sikorski helio sales dept. It's bad enough that jihad Jack is the enemy friends but now the "loyal" opposition, the folks who put us there in the first place, want to cut and run, sell out a whole country , just so they can make political points here in Canada. It's desgusting.

You are a dishonest prick and a fucking idiot.

Aside from the facts of which you are not aware, you managed to bitch about the helo deal, a deal that saved us >5.2 billion dollars for helicopters that we wouldn't be using if Afghanistan you still somehow failed to realize true positions.

Wanting the troops gone by Feb 2009 isn't "cutting and running" you asshole. What do you want. We commit to staying there forever?

Brave of a coward sitting at home collecting welfare while the rest of us go to work to pay for him and a war we want nothing to do with.

Leaving a year from know, far longer then it took us to win WW2 for fucks sake seems downright reasonable but only when Harper decides to leave will you finally take his dick out of your mouth to mumble an agreement.

You cry about the Liberals not visiting the trops then proclaim Harper as the man because he so wonderfully visits the troops because "he cares" (not enough to properly fund them though).

As usual whenever anybody but the CPC visits you cry and moan about how they are traitors and its a photo op.

    You are a dishonest prick.

What's wrong, Derby? Can't hide or distort the fact that Chretien put us there, and that many Liberals still support the mission? Dion is clawing to turn Chretien's war into Harper's war but those nasty little facts keep getting in the way.

Our Afghan friends must be shaking their heads right now. Fight starts in 2002 and no one in government cares enough to come see them, except when Harper, McKay and the Conservatives show up. Here's the leader of the country who's carrying the heavy load, talking to the Afghan president, the Afghan people and, most importantly, the Canadian troops. That's what leadership looks like.

Now along come these lackeys, from the party that started the mission in the first place, saying that times up and because it's dosen't play well with the voters back home. All those hollow words of help and support were just another broken Liberal lie.

    A little more

It sounds like he didn't talk to any of the troops there. I recall there was a video made by an independant documentary person who caight the martin Tsunami press junket, where they pushed people around, and even inrterupted a minute of silence. I'd expect this was much the same.

Dion said Canada "believes in the principle of rotation," and suggested other NATO countries take a turn on the front lines.

"After three years of a combat mission, it's normal that Canada would say 'we want to do something else," he said.

Karzai, meanwhile, told Dion he would like Canada to extend its military presence, but wanted to tell Canadians that Afghanistan would welcome them in any capacity.

Some of the roles Dion said a Liberal-led Canada would focus on include:

    -training police forces
    -countering institutional corruption
-creating strong education programs for women
    -water management.

-Considering the Liberals proven track record of meddling and cutting RCMP funding.
-Liberals, Corruption? Even the Afghans heard of Adscam.
    -Education for women... let's see.
-Water Management: I'm betting many of the nothern native reserves would have a damned good laugh at that one.
