Most British Columbians would support a system of "progressive punishment" that forces wealthier drivers to pay stiffer penalties when they're caught speeding, according to a new survey.

    I do not agree with this. Fines are fines, regardless of what they are for and should not be income-based.

    Why can't people just not do the thing that they can be fined for? :idea:

    It's a normal reaction. But what about the guy in the fancy car blowing through photo radar because he doesn't give a shit? That makes everyone less safe, and his assistant's accountant will just pay for it and they will never know the consequences.

    It works surprisingly well in the northern countries that have already tried it. If someone gets $500k photo radar ticket, they pay attention.
