Poison in the tea? Who could imagine?

Protip: If you are on Putin's shit list, don't drink tea in public.

I was thinking that too. I hate to kick a guy when hes down and I hope he pulls through, but you would think hed be a bit more careful considering hes one of Putins main antagonists.

Navalny was at risk every moment of every day. Its hard to imagine enduring such turmoil for 24 hours, let alone until they came for you. The only relatively safe option was exile and he rejected that.

I know, what a shock eh? It's awful but that's what you face in opposing a dictator.

Further to your Protip... or anything else for that matter that you did not prepare or open yourself.

I thought of that caveat, but some KGB assassin will find a way to spike it.

Best to just avoid the risk. Drink your tea at home, or in a covered container.

Some drink the tea, some drink the Kool-Aid.

Russian dissident Alexei Navalny, in a coma after a suspected poisoning, was flown from Siberia on Saturday to Berlin for treatment by specialists at the German capital's main hospital.

After touching down shortly before 9 a.m. at a special area of the capital's Tegel airport used for government and military flights, Navalny was taken by ambulance to the downtown campus of Berlin's Charite hospital.

Long enough that the poison is completely metabolized in his system.

Like we don't now that was the plan.

Poisoned Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny's condition has improved, allowing doctors to take him out of an induced coma, the German hospital treating him said Monday.

Navalny, a fierce, high-profile critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, was flown to Germany last month after falling ill on Aug. 20 on a domestic flight in Russia. German chemical weapons experts say tests show the 44-year-old was poisoned with a Soviet-era nerve agent, prompting the German government last week to demand that Russia investigate the case.

"The patient has been removed from his medically induced coma and is being weaned off mechanical ventilation," Berlin's Charite hospital said in a statement. "He is responding to verbal stimuli. It remains too early to gauge the potential long-term effects of his severe poisoning."

It sounds like he'll pull through.

    The "investigation" should be interesting.

Russia already did it. It went like this: He was fine when he left Russia, he had poison when he got to Germany, so it's Germany's fault and they are responsible.

    Seriously! That's what they said!
