Love the CBC's playing down the part the US gov't and their President had in the accord.

Here's another version that gives credit where credit is due.

Under the accord, which U.S. President Donald Trump helped broker, Israel has agreed to suspend its planned annexation of areas of the occupied West Bank. The agreement also firms up opposition to regional power Iran, which the UAE, Israel and the United States view as the main threat in the conflict-riven Middle East.

One can understand why the UAE would be a great spot for solar power, which is being built, but they are also going in another direction:

Is this really going to make the ME more stable?

Israel wouldnt have been planning the annexation if it werent for Trump in the first place.

The Gulf states and Israel have been secret partners for a long time anyways.

Time will tell if this peace deal will work for all involved.

I imagine Israel will renege eventually, sooner or later, as they've always done when it comes to settlement expansion.

UAE onside with an enemy of Iran? How much money did Jared spend to secure this?

Overall, it is a step forward for peace. Small victories...

Netanyahu has already insisted, without any of the ambiguity that shrouds many Israeli policies, that annexation will still happen.

The UAE is a dreadful place. Although selling drugs is a potentially capital offence for your average Yusuf from the likes of Pakistan, Irelands most notorious drug kingpin, responsible for many murders, was somehow able to live in Dubai for years.
