Living in British Columbia I've learned that when a gov't promises tax cuts or freezes it usually includes very hefty increases in "user fees" or other value added taxes that don't affect income taxes.

So, while I applaud this move I remain very skeptical that it will actually translate into real money savings for what's left of the middle class.

In Alberta, we don't get cuts unless we are businesses. We just get the creeping user fees.

I will actually be shocked if I get a tax cut, but like FOG, I am skeptical. Might be for just some tax bracket other than my own, or you have to be a family or something.

Good news on one hand but there's no way this doesn't get countered by more fees and other surcharges being levied at the federal/provincial/local levels. If anything it will encourage municipalities to grab even more. There's probably not a big-city council in this country that doesn't look at every dollar in this country belonging only to them.

As long as nobody asks the obvious question "Why are we paying any taxes at all?!?" while the fiat is still being printed out of thin air and given to the 1% for free, then all is good in the empire.

Bread, tax cuts and circuses for all!

you may complain about the 'wealthy' but >70% of all personal income tax collected in Canada is from the $100K or greater bracket.

So they sure as shit pay more than their fair share!

$300 a year is pathetic. Not impressed.

Watch them cut your taxes and then tax you on what you didn't have to pay in taxes.
