Calgary airport criticized after converting 5 disabled stalls to Lexus-only parking

Well, it didn't take long for this to be corrected.

This was dumb even by the standards of this obnoxious city.

Whoever thought this was a good idea needs to get their head checked.

Whaaat? Lexus drivers can be disabled too. *cough*assholes*cough*

There's nothing wrong with it if a company is willing to pay the airport for something like this but taking up space for disabled that's a big no-no and now the person who decided to use these specific stalls will be looking for a job on Kijji. Edmonton's airport has the same thing except they didn't take disabled parking stalls.

It would be more than hilarious if they did this special thing just for Lexus drivers and a Lexus driver who defines the term "selfish piece of shit" came along and parked his SUV horizontally across three of the Lexus-only stalls.

I have seen that! Lexus at Timmies, parked across two disabled spots. Should got a pic and put it on one of those asshole parkers sites.

Let's be honest they're really Toyota's.

Layers of stupidity.

First, airports are public assets and parking there can already be expensive and inconvenient as it is. Reserving airport parking spaces for marketing of ANY brand is a bad idea

Second, reserving spaces for an expensive luxury brand is just another example of pandering to the wealthy at the expense of the working class.


Then on top of all that comes the use of disabled spaces. I can only assume that this job was assigned to some student intern who was too ignorant of the world to understand what he was doing and then some lazy manager didn't check his work.

Obviously the next step is for Calgary to sell the naming rights to the airport.

Edit: Why not just sell the naming rights to the whole damned city???

It's Calgary. Everything will just end up being called "Hooters _______ ".

Hootersville sounds a lot better than the current disreputable Nenshiville.
