Organizers of a graduation ceremony for black students at Canada's largest university say the event is meant to acknowledge the barriers that remain for people of colour pursuing academia.

Kelly Hannah-Moffat, the university's vice-president of human resources and equity, said the school had never been approached with such a proposal before, but said it would be happy to consider any similar suggestions from other racialized groups in the future.

I wonder what they'll do if some white students come forward requesting their own Graduation Ceremony? ROTFL

BTW the CBC and Hannah-Moffat spelled it wrong. It's "radicalized" not "racialized.

Oddly it's black people who are the ones demanding segregation these days.

Can't force people who don't like each other to get along. If separation creates peace then so be it. Beside after what they and PRIDE did to the Toronto PD, basically abolishing the police from the festival because BLM found the cops to be too "upsetting" to look at, the Toronto black community (and the gutless civic politicians that abetted them) can all go fuck right off IMO.

Like I care about what any of these wads get up to for amusement. Gimme a six pack and a couple of magical brownies and I'll be happy for at least a day.

Yeah why should the handful of native kids that graduated here get their own special ceremony? Wanna make them feel more special than the basketful who didn't and end up mooching in front of the Beer Store?
    FFS stop being so petty.

I've got no problem with any of them getting their own special segregated graduation ceremony but, if they have one then, any whites who want toshould have the exact same rights. Because to do otherwise is racist.

    No it's not.
Is there some sort of obstacle to being white? Do you think it's the same of being black or native or brown? Is there even a common experience among "whites"?
To hold a whites only ceremony would be the epitome of racist, you don't get to redefine the meaning of the word.

You're the one redefining the meaning. You are saying only whites can be racist which is wrong.

    Nice try.
I'd explain, but you don't want to hear.

Anyone can have any ceremony they want. It'd be nice though if some of these events weren't always couched in a "the white man is fucking us over all the time" attitude. It's getting boring being blamed all the time for everything. :|
