A red-tailed hawk being raised by a pair of bald eagles on Vancouver Island is about two weeks from leaving the nest if its three eaglet siblings don't kill it first.

Interesting for sure. It's not completely unusual though for a species of critter raising a youngster of another species. This has been observed with mammals but this is the first time I think I've heard of it with birds. We shall see if the hawk survives until it is able to fly away on its own.

I'm not hopeful it will survive. :(

Once the eagle chicks see it's smaller and weaker than them, it'll just be another meal. :( Other birds, like the cuckoo, lay in other nests of birds that are smaller than their chicks for this reason.
