An asteriod the size of a semi-trailer is set to pass between the Earth and Moon sometime today. We first saw it yesterday, by accident.

I'd say it's about time, but no doubt it will probably be starved of resources like everything else at the UN.

Wow, they're forming a committee or two.

All the grunt work will still be done by national space agencies and astronomers.

The UN is involved in trying to save us from an asteroid strike? Fuck me we're all doomed.

    My thoughts exactly.

All the serious scientific research to be done by the experts in Saudi Arabia.

As long as Bruce Willis is on the committee we'll be fine.

If anyone starts singing "Leaving On A Jet Plane" or inappropriately fucks around with a box of Animal Crackers in a quasi-obscene/totally lame manner we riot.

Well, you just can't argue with that kind of solid rebuttal, full of citations
and quotes, backed by relevant legislation.

Yeah and if an asteriod is discovered to be on a convergent course with the Earth, the committee will mull it over, ad-infinitum, until it's too late. Imagine, turning the future of vertebrate life over to an organization that can't agree to the colour of shyte.

Oh...because the Republicans and Democrats, for example, set the bar for collaboration.

I like the Canadian system, better. The Prime Minister is right .... and everyone else is wrong.
