wow... that's even worst than the language laws in Quebec. That's a very odd decision.

Retarded bylaw. Let people put signs in whatever language they want. If it's not appropriate to where they are they just won't get any business.

$1:
But wait a second -- wasn't this all settled by the Supreme Court of Canada back in 1988? In a case called Ford v. Quebec regarding Quebec's infamous Bill 101, the SCC said, ". . . there cannot be true freedom of expression by means of language if one is prohibited from using the language of one's choice." But the Galganov decision doesn't even refer to the Ford case.

Nice try by the author at confusing the subject. No one is prohibiting him from using the language of his choice, they're just forcing him to use BOTH official langauges and to give them equal visibility. Something you WON'T see in Quebec!!!

In our supposed canadian Charter of Rights when pertaining to Freedoms of Expression. Your supppose to be able to use what ever language you want. They're trying to take that away in Russell. We know it doesn't exist in Québec, I'm not QC bashing just stating the facts. Their doing it in Moncton.

Its should be no bodies damn business especially government what languages are on a sign from someones private business. Facing fines over languages on signs what a fucking joke.

We really dont have full Freedom of Expression in this country.

Despite what I said in my previous post, I completely agree with what you said.
It's my business, my captial, my risk, and my sign should be in any single(or more) language(s) I want it to be.

Dude should be able to have it in Sanskrit if he wants.

My view is corporations are not people therefor charter rights do not apply to them.
