Yep, she's trying for the "I was crazy defense" I hope they see thru it. I have no problem with her being sent to a psychiatric facility, but she should get a life sentence and be watched the rest of her life. No miraculous cures after a year or so, and she's free

I doubt that will be the case though

Choban Choban: Coldly addressing the camera with her statement to the Father of the children should take away any claim to insanity one would think. I doubt that will be the case though Actually somebody that doesn't know right from wrong (the legal definition of insanity) could be quite emotionless as they did a horrible act, right? But in her case, one of her conditions is borderline personality disorder, which would also fit with her actions. I don't think that is deemed to be a legal definition of insane, unless it has psychotic episodes.

But the statement itself provides motive for the killings suggesting a calculated response to her situation wiht her husband, were I on a jury that would be enough for me to discount any insanity plea. Mental health be damned, the only time the system wants to help people with mental issues is AFTER they kill someone

I think most criminals are insane in one form or another, or let's say have mental health problems. If we had a better mental health system, and a system that supports children better, we could prevent creating a lot of criminals. But, insane or not, I want the same life sentence for murder. If you're batshit crazy and don't know what you did, you should not just be let out a year later 'cause they gave you some meds and now you're "cured." I'm all for rehabilitating everyone, but that takes a long time, and some people of course can never be rehabilitated.

If these were men that had done this, I wouldn't worry. Bada bing, bada boom they'd be convicted of 1st degree murder. But since it was poor, helpless women that did it, the "justice" system might let them go with very little consequence. Heck, they should just claim delayed postpartum depression.

The youngest was a year old. Nothing "delayed" about it. It takes a while before you are over one...

I have no clue why you think I do. All I am trying to point out, is that PPD or PPP are not things you should take lightly. She has way more problems than PPD, if she ever had one (referring to the issues they think she has, posted in the story)

But, just as with other crazy people, I want anybody that murders to get a life sentence. Fine, let em out on parole, but monitor them for the rest of their lives. And women who kill because of ppd/ppp should have to apply to their parole officer if they want to get pregnant again, and have a solid safety plan in place for when they do. Including weekly check ups with a shrink after they give birth. Not just "oh well, the poor dear couldn't help herself and we'll just let her go."
