If he has been in jail for 27 years for crimes he did not commit, he better sue and damned well win.

If, in fact, this man is not guilty , then a lawsuit shouldn't even be necessary. Generous compensation should be offered immmediately upon finding him not guilty as charged.

How to determine generous compensation? Simple. Just put it to the original judge in the case as to " How much $$$ would YOUR HONOR be satisfied with in order to be incarcerated for the next 27 years"!

Agree with Brenda but I might have a few questions for Ivan Henry...

Why the f**k did you have to be restrained by police in your line-up... if you're innocent, just hold still, smile and give the person trying to identify the rapist a chance to get a look at you.
WTF, trying to represent yourseft on a rape charge... idiot.
It took you 27 years to find a lawyer that saw the "irregularities in the prosecution"!!! 8O

$1:
And, although DNA tests were not in use at the time, a simple blood test could have eliminated Henry as a suspect.

Sounds like he was convicted so the cops and the CP could say they "did something" about a series of crimes they couldn't solve.

'Round up the usual suspects!'

According to the story, David Crossin was the Crown Prosecutor for the case.

Being held by Police and charged with rape would give most people the jitters.

I can imagine that if a woman has just been raped and is not sure what the guy looks like, she could possibly choose the guy that's being held by 3 policemen. 8O
