Give them a shot!!!

We're about to give Ottawa yet another kick at it in 2013, I think Moncton deserves a chance to make a go of it. Lets make the CFL a truly national league.

It would be nice, but I dont think there is enough money there to support a team.

Maybe, if they build a decent-sized stadium (the one they played in yesterday had 11,000 temporary seats).

We've already got a great life in the Maritimes. How the hell is a football team going to add to that?

Halifax(418 000) has more people than Regina(180 000) and Saskatoon(202 000) combined and like the Riders could draw an audience from the surrounding region(NS:941 609, NB:751 000, PEI: 140 000(1.83 million) vs Saskatchewan: 1 040 000) . Halifax having a team has been bandied about for years. Or is that too fair to drive in their cairs?

I really don't care where they put the team, I just think there should be a team in the Maritimes. Despite the only negative comment I've ever heard about a team being there, I think they would support it very well and Halifax is a great choice too.

Moncton has only 65 000 people, so that would make it too small.

The problem with Hali is you will have to convince them to build a large enough stadium. Large scale development is not something that comes by easily in NS.

I think it is too far, those that do own cars here would be hard pressed to drive, 2 1/2, 3 1/2, 5 or 7 hours (one way) to see one football game where their home team will likely loose. The game in Moncton went off wonderfully because it is a novelty and something quite rare. I just dont see investors in Atlantic Canada taking the risk on something that could very well backfire.

You're comparing apples and bannana's here.

Saskatchewan Roughrider fans travel to games from all over the province because of loyalty to their team and tradition. But the reality is that it's one hell of alot easier for a rider fan to drive to Regina from places like North Battleford, Winnipeg, Calgary, Medicine Hat, Brandon or any other city in the Prairaies than it ever would be for a maritimer to get to Halifax from some place like Hawkse Point Nfld.

So to use the stat that because the maritimes have a larger overall population than Saskatchewan, they'll have the same loyalty, devotion and ability to attend home games is a real freakin stretch.

Now with that being said I'd love nothing more than to see a team in the Maritimes but like others on here, we won't see it until Halifax, yes Halifax, builds a CFL capable stadium. Just look at your history. The CFL was ready to put a team in Halifax until the stadium deal fell through.
