Brenda Brenda:
So if second degree murder is a life sentence, what is first degree murder?
I agree, Andy.
A life sentence with no possibility of parole for 25 years. To really get a life sentence, you have to raise your crimes to the level of a Olsen or Bernardo. I have no problem with dangling the possibility of parole in front of a convict, I just wish they didn't hand them out like kids meal toys.
BTW, in BC we had a gang banger confess to taking part in the murder of 6 people, all at once in a targeted hit that also caught two innocent bystanders, and he managed to bargain his parole eligibility down to 10 years. Who do you think represents the greater threat to society, him or this Alberta guy?
