What I like best about electric cars is the idea of not so much with the replacement parts and maintenance. I hate how bad we get ripped by the current dealers for that sort of crap. I think it's a good idea for lots of people to go out, and buy these electric cars.

I'm thinking maybe in about ten years when they work all the bugs out, and the prices go down, I'll pick up a kit electric, or a second-hand one for puttering around the city on chores.

Here's what I don't get though. If electric is the good energy, why is my nephew coming over, and riding my ass about leaving the lights on, and not using the twisty light bulbs. His teacher has him doing everything, but checking my skull for horns.

You're a Conservative. That's already assumed.

Or did you not get the Horn Growth Hormone in your Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy Membership package?

The bastard mayor of Vancouver will fight to destroy this to keep the bicycle nazies happy, regardless of the results. Industry and manufacture must be evil and must be destroyed for the sake of mankind.

Nissan engineers are seriously considering adding an artificial engine noise to the Leaf, Forsyth said.

Lol. Don't they have those for Prias owners?

I thought it funny as hell that you can now buy motorcycle trailer electrics to make it look like you actually rode to Sturgis when you trailered your hog. Having engine noise comming from your speakers is only a small advance on the lie.

I'm waiting to be proven wrong that anything other that Trev Deely and Phil Funell ever came out of Vancouver.

8O 8O got a link for that trailer bs ?

Tattoo Girl knows my opinion on trailering bikes. :)

Actually, Jay Leno, known gearhead, had an interesting take on this:

He compared it to the automobile replacing horses as primary transportation,
these electro cars will save gasoline for 'real' vehicles.

Its only to have the balls to build up some Nuclear Power Plants to deliver
the clean electricity needed to power these cars.

How's this?
http://news.motorbiker.org/blogs.nsf/dx ... rcycle.htm

Let me be very clear.. I don't care what yuu ride but that you ride and pretending you rode somewhere is the same as wearing military medals you or your family didn't earn.

I'm sorry to say that it eventually picked up some sort of electrical fault that only ended in it being sold to an even bigger fool. I didn't want to give it up but I did't want to start replacing reverything either..

It's always about dealer support though and I really think they make a great product but their dealer base is sad.

I'm more interested in the Volt, or at lest a car like it. Electric powered car, but with a backup generator on board to keep it going if that battery runs dry. That way I can still take the car on long trips without worrying about being able to plug it in, but for daily driving I'm not wasting my money on gas.

I wonder what happens with the battery when its life has ended. Within about 5 years... How "clean" will that be taken care of?
