$1: "Having someone else's blood pumping through my veins, stressing my body, caused me to reflect on how my rights over my body had been taken away by a judge who did not care enough to talk with me,'' she wrote in a 2006 affidavit filed in the Supreme Court.
So now its about "someone elses blood"? I thought it was about the fact blood should flow at all times, and transfusion blood has not been flowing for a while. THAT is what a Jehova's Witness friend of mine told me when she almost died in childbirth, because of bloodloss during the delivery of her son while she suffered from pre-eclampsia.

I think a teen has an idea of what they want...when it comes to life, everyone freaks out because they think a teen has no idea what they are speaking to but when they commit a crime they are of full mind. Make up your mind folks.
BTW...I dont take Live blood transfusions myself...I have been living off of plasma for the time being. the whole idea creeps me out as well.

THAT is what a Jehova's Witness friend of mine told me when she almost died in childbirth, because of bloodloss during the delivery of her son while she suffered from pre-eclampsia. Actually the Jehova's Witless that used to harrass me told me it was because their Bible says, Thou shalt not drink the blood of sacrifice. Which I wholeheartedly agree with. But giving it freely isn't a sacrifice, it's a gift. And quite frankly, if it was good enough for Jesus to give his blood so that we may live, shouldn't we strive to keep that gift alive by sharing it with others?

But it also should be a right to not accept it. I think it is brilliant to give but some get really grossed and freaked out by it all.

I see what you're saying TG but let me cite an example and this isn't anecdotal. There are a lot of teens involved with the JW whose parents are not. I've personally known a half dozen in my life. 2 girls, 5 boys. 1 eventually commited suicide and the others got out when they were older and grew a brainstem and some self esteem. I've also found that they use sex as a selling point for their "religion" and use it as leverage. Especially with the teenage boys.
Now, let's say one of those teens winds up in hospital needing blood, or plasma if you prefer. They refuse the transfusion on religious grounds, die, and then the parents get the police involved and bring charges of criminal negligence causing death on the doctor. Now the doctor is potentially screwed and may lose his/her licence on top of a prison or jail term. Some teens may be smart enough to make their own decisions, but from my experience, there is some form of brainwashing within the JW. There is certainly a LOT of peer pressure, more so than the average teen feels in highschool. It's just a different kind of peer pressure.

Get both parents and teen to sign off. Pretty simple actually

Not that simple when the teen is a JW and the parents aren't, as I stated in my example.

Why dont we make it the same age to decide and to be tried as age of consent. It takes alot off of everyone. My point being is I see so many, on this forum and in life, jump down and condemn a kid based on age but when it comes time to make a decision of their life...god forbid they make that choice. All religions stuff shit down throats, but we dont want to go there do we?

I'm not jumping down anybody's throat here though. I just don't think a 15 yr old has the ability to make a decision like that when they've been pumped full of some very bad information. I'm not condeming the kid, I'm condeming the entire JW "religion". A religion I might add, that was abolished in Canada until the appearance of bleeding heart liberals and "religious rights", despite the fact it is a completely anarchistic organization. They can't very well grant her wish while at the same time, refusing the terminally ill the very same right to die earlier.

What does a 15 year old expect.
The adults made the decision for her. Now that she's older if she chooses to make such a decision again all the power to her.
If you make a choice that results in the end of your life for an imaginary being then go for it. Leaves more room for the rest of us who don't speak to imaginary beings based off a book no one has any proof some all powerful being wrote.
