Oh come on, you know October is usually a fairly dry month. 50 millimeters is more like December or January weather.

Hand out candy on Halloween and wonder why everyone dressed like they were off to fish lobster?
Move anywhere else in Canada. Oh look! TWELVE 'Kenny's from Southpark'...

...and we will continue to have rain on and off, heavy at times, with some clearing periods, until April. So what else is new?

Except for the snow on Vancouver Island and the lower mainland. Like having a hurricane roll in!

Ah yes, we'll see some white stuff again this year. Maybe like last year I'll get a few paid days off work when the boss decides it's too shitty to bother opening at work. Will have to sit around drinking and hanging out here  .

I figure the weather for the Olympics will go either:

A mild February with no snow but lots of rain. They'll have to ship snow in or make it for the alpine events. It'll be a joke and a reminder that committing to something like this in Vancouver with it's ever-changing and hard to predict weather is very risky.

or

Snow. More snow. Vancouver-has-shut-down kind of snow (you locals know what I mean). Gridlock. Ice. It'll be a joke and a reminder that committing to something like this in Vancouver with it's complete inability to deal with winter when it does rear it's ugly head is very risky.

The lack of snow in the Lower Mainland shouldn't be a problem, as the only outdoor events taking place here are in Cypress...Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard. The main events here will all be indoor, with all the major Alpine events taking place in and around Whistler, which usually doesn't have a problem with lack of snow at that time of year. But, this being BC you can never be sure about the weather.

To be fair, we got drenched here on the coast today. Haven't seen a good thunderstorm like the one we had today in a while.

I forgot how entertaining they are.
