People like this make me sick. They replace their own sense of right and wrong with messages to a higher being. In the process they remove themselves from the equation. "It was God's will!"

Bullshit. God has no will. People like this simply want to blame God for their bad decisions, and keep from having to make hard decisons. Sin is a human concept, not one brought to us by a deity.

I could go on, but I am too angry that this woman has shown us how far we have yet to evolve.

While I totally agree with you, if the girl is terminally ill, as the article states, then it doesn't really matter whether she got medical treatment or prayers. "Terminal" means neither approach will help, no?

No terminal in this sense ment she would never get better, diabeties is treatable. Her mother assumed her daughter had done something wicked, so she prayed to her imaginary friend to lift the curse and heal her daughter.

But hey who are we to say that their beliefs arent important, and their wishes should not granted. For all we know it was their daughter who said she didnt want insulin to live... [/sarcasim]

Then that's an inflammatory misuse of the word "terminal", IMHO. The title made me think that this kid's condition was beyond treatment.

She had diabetes, not a terminal illness if treated, the title is wrong

Funny thing is that theres no mention of what religion the family practices, is it one of those borderline cults that deny medical treatment or are they just zealots with no brains?

Not that I disagree with you, but my wife is a devout catholic (other than marrying a heathen) and would never deny any kind of medical attention to my children.

I think that's my point. The fact that it doesn't point out what religion (or cult) the parents are, people are going to use stories like this as how all religion is evil.
