Those examples sound lore like a person's own carelessness would send them to the hospital. I was expecting to read about bites - from dogs, cats, rodents and especially birds. As beautiful as they are, birds can pack a lot of power behind a bite. My lovie can draw blood, but the big guys, like the harlequin macaws can do some serious damage.

oh gawd yes...some of those those beaks are BUILT to tear flesh from bone 8O

I tore my meniscus in my right knee from avoiding my cat on the stairs. I couldn't walk for two weeks.

I think the bastard did it on purpose.

Definitely.

Cats are good judges of character evil.

Youre right, my cat eats birds. I heard you like birds.

We had the nicest cat a while back with the sweetest personality. Never went outside and was declawed.
One nice summer day, another cat came up to our patio screen door.
My cat went wild and they started fighting through the screen.
My girlfriend pushed our cat back and tried to close the door.
Our cat jumped on her and bit her arm.
My GF pushed him back again and finished closing the door.
Then our cat came charging back and bit her on her ankle.
Her arm, where he had bitten her, swelled up and she had to go to the hospital the next day.
She had a sub-cutaneous infection and was 10 days on antibiotics.

Yup, Cat saliva is full of bacteria, after all they use their tongues as toilet paper.

I've heard that cats are one of the worst animals to bite you infection wise, other than humans!

Yup. If you're not too careful in how you handle those creatures you could end up in a hospital in need of an intubation.

My cat is a sweety pie untill there's another one outside then it's slash and gash.

I remember sticking my arms into the space between the walls of a hayloft looking for kittens. I'd grab something warm and furry that spit, hissed, bit and scratched and I'd just hope it wasn't a rat....did that twice(gentle scoop turned into sudden squishes). I used to come back with lots of bites and scratches, never got an infection.

You can tell people who haven't been around cats much. They haven't built resistance to what lives on kitty claws and teeth.
And they aren't really evil, they just have such a warped sense of humour it's hard to tell from true evil.
