One wonders if its within the realm of possibility to actually go to a car show (and bring back a car to work on) without absolutely HAVING to take with them a laptop with themselves having sex on it.....??? This is the same type of "look-at-me" fools who engage in simulated sex acts in the "pride" parade. How many of the heteros here would take a laptop featuring themselves having sex to a border crossing ? How many would even HAVE such videos ? I don't care about the troubles these brain-dead idiots got. But I'm glad it was Canadian border guards that did this...saved a lot of anti-American hysteria being posted here.

Why can't you have porn on your laptop? Why wouldn't you take your laptop across the border?
Really, this is nonsence...
THe Canadian border patrol officers here at the crossing are a bunch of grouchy assholes, while the US guards are friendly and funny...

$1: The "questionable material" was gay porn. In particular, the CBSA officer pointed to a video that showed light watersports. $1: "Mostly, we want to let people know they shouldn't have any pornographic material, period," says Rick. "It's just a pissoff. People aren't aware of it."

I agree with Brenda the Canadian Border assholes at the thousand island bridge are a bunch of pricks.. they probably spent the rest of the day getting their jollies at these guys expense.. I usually go to the states via Quebec/Vermont border and have encountered very little difficulty in the many years of back and forth.. but i am working close to the 1000 island bridge and have been over about 3x it 2yrs.. and I have to say these tools are something else.. they spend more time worrying about collecting tax for the government coffers than checking for terrorists or drug traffickers ... porn on a computer? ya that is a security threat.. some nurses I work with went over for a girls day out .. shopping etc.. on their return their car was stripped .. hub caps and all and they were left to put it together.. how much did they spend in the US.. between the 4 of them 200 bucks... time to end this bullshit..

You wouldn't say that if you crossed the border in the first couple of years after 9/11. I've crossed the border tons of times prior and had no problems. The three times I crossed after 9/11 (2002 and 2003), they grilled me about all sorts of nonsense that they never used to, like why I needed a laptop to go to a wedding. Another stupid question was why do you have a cooler in your car (after I had told them I was going camping).

Oh, no, I am only speaking from my own experience here at the border... I crossed it 2 times in the last 3 weeks, and I had to get a visa waiver, so fingerprinted and mugshot taken. No problem, took a while. We had laughs, they helped me fill out the things for my kids... Back to Canada, they searched my car (only the back where I had put my shopping) and let me pay $ 35 in duty and taxes. They have been grouchy to me, barking at my kids, and spent an hour going through my stuff and doing paperwork. They did not look anywhere else than in my groceries. Don't think they looked for any dangerous items... And they didn't ask if I brought a laptop with me ![Angel [angel]](./images/smilies/angel1.gif)

Why should it matter what kind of video's you choose to have on your laptop. So long as they're legal (i.e. not child porn or illegally burned vids) it's none of their god damn business. If you can explain to me how a video of some guy getting buggered by his boyfriend is some how a national security issue I might ageree but the only thing I see this threating is your sense of masculinity. And to say that hetro couples don't video themselves is beyond ignorance. If anything the CHRC should be looking at issues such as this instead of wasting their time chasing perfectly legitimate news reporters.

Yeah, the border guards in Alberta are grouchy compared to the American guards. I once smiled at a female guard on my way back into Canada and she gave me a look like I'd just kicked her dog.
On the way into the States on the same trip the American guy waved us through with a genuine smile. I felt more welcome in the States than returning to my home and native land.
