This is just sad. To maintain our blue water capabilities, we NEED these ships. MacKay needs to convince Harper of that and soon, or we are going to spend a decade without replacements. It's bad enough that we won't have new DDHs for at least a decade, but this will vastly diminish our naval capabilities.

It is very sad that the government is not putting defence at a higher priority. Vessels will not last indefinitely and with the pressure that Russia is placing on Arctic soverinty I would think that boosting the military's capabilities would be top on the list.

The CPC are more serious about defence than any other party in the arena, but that still isn't good enough.
