Why do people continue to go there? I've even heard guys at work talk about their plans to visit Mexico shortly. There are so many countries that we could go to with excellent weather and less chance of death. Personally I'd go to the Caymans.

Mexico is cheap.

In the Caymans a sandwich costs 25 dollars. A mini van ride from the docks to the beach cost me 20 bucks in the Caymans. the van had about ten people in it, not fun being rammed in with 9 stangers, 200 dollars for 3 miles!

In Mexico I went from the airport to the hotel on Cabo San Lucas which is about 30 miles for 60 bucks tip included! It was just me and my wife.

ManifestDestiny ManifestDestiny:
Mexico is cheap.

What's your life worth? The caymans is one example. There is Belize, Costa Rica, St. Kitts. Probably all more expensive but I think living is worth paying a bit more.

I agree. Just tried to explain why many people go there.

I’ve been on 3 cruises that had stops in different Mexico ports, and I have yet to step foot on Mexican soil. The country does absolutely nothing for me.

People (even tourists) get killed all over the world for nothing. I don't think Canadians or Mexico are exceptions.

R=UP

Gees guys, you all sound like a bunch of cackling old women.

I have noticed that when Canadians travel to the United States and Mexico, they seem to be "in your face," like "we are Canadian, so you should like us."

I think these tourist were either looking for drugs, or got mixed up with the wrong people and didn't respect the culture.

Mexico is still the wild west, and if you're to much of a sissy to handle that, then yes your should go else where or stay in Canada.

Costa Rica is not expensive to visit but you still must be careful. You are warned to stay out of certain areas due to risk of being car jacked, kidnapped and murdered.

4 can eat a 5 coarse meal for under $20 US. The food is great as well as the people.

I think there is a risk no matter where you travel. Visitors to Canada have been murdered also though it is rare.
