Uganda miniskirt ban: Police stop protest march





Police in Uganda have prevented women from marching through the streets of the capital, Kampala, in protest at new laws banning the wearing of miniskirts.

Instead about 200 women, some dressed in short skirts, gathered outside the national theatre to voice their anger.

There have been several incidents over the past week of women in short skirts being publicly harassed and assaulted.

This follows the signing by the president of the anti-pornography bill, which bans "indecent" dressing.

Proposing the legislation last year, Uganda's Ethics and Integrity Minister Simon Lokodo said that women who wore "anything above the knee" should be arrested.

Rita Achiro, executive director of the Uganda Women's Network, said her organisation may take legal action as the constitution guarantees equal rights for both sexes and it would continue to urge politicians to review the law.

The anti-pornography act does not mention the word miniskirt but bans women from revealing their thighs, breasts and buttocks and from dressing indecently in a manner to sexually excite.

This is why it is imperative to fight any attempt of Religion to encroach into Government. Even the Hippy Jesus Christianity that we have become accustomed to will turn into cruel dictatorship in short order given that power. In the US we can see that even the potential of gaining Power is turning Christianity into a force of cruelty and outright hatred. At the rate things are going, the Westboro Baptist church will seem mainstream, rather than the extreme.

The resistance is building. As I have said before, the gay agenda needs to step back and take some time off. Consolidate what they've gained or risk the upcoming Artcle V Constitutional Convention submitting some very unpleasant Amendments to the state legislatures to approve.

I would have no problem cutting aid to - Uganda, Saudi Arabia, India, Malaysia, Libya, Algeria, Nigeria, Ghana, Congo, Venezuela, Benin, China, Fiji, Singapore, Yemen, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Georgia, Turkey, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Senegal, United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka, Borneo, Brunei, Phillipines, Costa Rica, Honduras, Belize, Guyana, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Jordan, Syria, Namibia, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Maldive Islands, Madagascar, South Africa, and etc. that persecute homosexuality.

Now some of the above nations do not imprison homosexuals for being homosexual, they just limit their rights due to their sexual orientation. I also doubt nations like Saudi Arabia, China, Jordan, UAE ect receive financial aid from Canada.
