To his family and friends I can understand their loss and they will miss him and they have my commiseration; however as the Israeli PM he was quite a pain in the ass to work with from the American point of view. He was such a Pain that the US even stopped pouring money into that country for a while.

My point simply is that while I have sympathy for his family and his friends at the passing of one of their loved ones Yitzak Shamir as PM was not the easiest PM to work with (from an American point of view) to secure peace.
While he is worthy of respect he wasn't a Yitzak Rabin.
