Agreed.

A prayer or two might be in order for his misspelling ass.

Good here. No the Taliban haven't taken Kabul, CNN. Took some small arms fire, RPGs and mortars. No ISAF casualties, to my knowledge. Afghan police/army cleaned them up quite quickly.

Thanks for the thinking of me.

Don't get too teary eyed. I'm just hoping you're around so I can mooch a duty free from you.

Hilarious EB. I was sitting next to a Vietnam vet yesterday who said exactly the same thing, while watching the hysterical CNN coverage.

Fortunately, that leftard surrender-f*ck Walter Cronkhite is dead so we won't have that sanctomonious SOB telling the troops that the enemy has won and that we'd all best surrender.

Not that I'd have any strong opinions on the topic. 8)

Ehhhh, nothing new to see here. Springtime traditionally equals wartime in the wilder parts of the world. Always has, always will. Eventually we'll realize that we're bashing our heads against a five thousand year old tradition in that part of the world and quit wasting our time over there.

I agree. I say we pull out the troops and leave these mutts with a nice, warm parting gift.

Nah. As much as I like explode-y things, that'd be taking it a bit too far. The new policy should be leave them to their own devices and occasionally go in to zap them if they get too uppitty. No more regime-change or democracy-building or any of that other useless, phony crap we've deluded ourselves with.

Maybe. But I think the Tallies know that the end is nigh for NATO in the Afghan theatre. A few Euro-bodies will speed up the less committed countries giving up on it and just leave the Yanks and Brits. I think this is foremost in the Tally mind-set in this Tet-like start to the Afghan War, season 2012.

They can sniff power again.

The government might stay in power as long as the funds keep coming. The puppet the Russians installed lasted until the Russains cut off the funds. If you don't pay the army, you lose trained fighters to the enemy. Karzai ain't much but he's better than the Taliban.
