Trying to remember if that's the town the parents took us to in the 60s where the museum handed you a little bag of mine tailings as a momento. They had a suggestion box for ideas of what to do with the huge pile of tailings, and being a smart-ass nine year old I filled one out. "Put it in little bags and let the tourists take it away a couple ounces at a time...."

The smallest city? I don't think Greenwood, BC is smaller than Piapot, SK.

Piapot is a small town or village whereas Greenwood is an incorporated city.....the smallest in Canada!
$1:
The City of Greenwood was incorporated in 1897.

Phoenix still exists, the town may be no more than an open pit now but Phoenix still exists, even though the only things still standing are the cemetery and memorial to those who gave their lives in WWI.
