Politically, our "friendship" is fine. We kinda have to be friends.

But on a people level, Canadians have always and will always resent Americans, and Americans have always and will always just not give a shit about Canadians no matter what we think.

We are such great friends.

Didn't you mean "immature Canadians with a completely child-like outlook have always and will always resent Americans,"?

Sounds like some big penis envy for a sixteen year old.

:| Absurd insults and pathetic crap....

I guess John A. MacDonald was an "Immature Canadian with a Completely Child-Like Outlook".

Listen. This country has a large history of Anti-Americanism. That's all I was noting. Support it or not, it does not make everyone who opposes you an idiot.

So while you are telling me to grow up, you might want to try it yourself.

No so pathetic - it spooled you up quick enough.

As for John A. - well maybe he was immature with a child-like outlook, that being said, he came by his opinions through experience, not toddler-style knee jerk reactionism.

By the way, I'm not sure about all the other anti-Americans being idiots, but you've certainly convinced me of your status. 8)

I don't see what the big deal is here. Canadian fighters fly patrol for the US and we return the favor. Friends do stuff like that.

Unless someone wishes to propose that we not be friends anymore. XD

Just pick any one of these forums. No matter what it's supposed to be about the odds are at some point someone will go off on an anti-American rant. I think most reasonable people would conclude that our friendship, which has been tenuous at best for more than a few years, is pretty much shot.

Oh, I don't know about that. I think a few far left and far right idiots have tried to manipulate the feelings of the majority either way, but most sensible people I think still realise that in the end we're still good friends at heart.

Hell, just because my neighbour likes luke warm Bud and I like a merlot with nose doesn't mean I won't need to borrow his riding lawnmower and he my hockey net. 8)

But I think of it as a marriage of convenience.

We really are into exploiting the hell out of each other. It helps both of us.

Our trade deficit with Canada is about 80 billion a year. How is that helping us?

Wait, are you Canadian or American?

Anyway.

The United States gets resources it needs from us, such as Water and Electricity.

And Canada gets...

...

*scratches head*

Crappy TV shows.

I'm American, and besides crappy TV shows you get a market for 80% of your exports (a lot of which used to be made in US factories) and employment for millions of your people. You make billions, we pay billions.

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
I'll explain what I think right now:

1. I don't think we'll be able to stop protesters before the Olympics.
2. I believe force will happen.
3. I support this force.
4. I believe the media will ignore this. But I don't care.
5. I want the Olympics to happen at any cost. Destroy everything in the way.
6. I don't mind how far our government goes about this.

OLYMPICS ÜBER ALLES!!!

I think there was a chance for the two countries would get along before, but it was americans attitudes towards Canadians that has created this. I think any self respecting Canadian could not possibly have a friendship feeling towards a country that for no reason at all considers us inferior and almost have to ignore the fact that in 2008 Canada is a completely different country than when all these unintelligent stereotypes were invented so many years ago. This kind of ignorant attitude towards one of the last countries that would offer a helping hand to them is completely unforgivable and the onus is on them to correct it and I could care less if they do. It's the plain ignorance of their citizens (that's what you get with a education system that doesn't work like they have I guess) that creates the anger from Canadians and it's completely justified. All you'd have to do is get an american to explain Canada and Canadians to you to understand why no Canadian can respect their opinions of us.

And? They were taken by surprise by terrorists who hijacked commercial jets. Obviously when their mission is to patrol an event surprise won't be an issue.

Yes they were taken surprise because their training was for Air Attacks coming outside from United States Air Space not from within so on 9/11 NORAD was caught with it's pants down..

Of course facts like that doesn't matter to Mr Burns..

You've GOT to be kidding, right? Facts???
After 50 years of NORAD planning they never once thought them damn Commies or Terrrrists would try a sneak attack from inside the country? Is that what you really think? They have the some of the best planners and military minds in the world and they never once thought there might be a sneak attack from inside the US?

Despite 40 years of the Cold War, the HUAC hearings and McCarthyism, when there was a red under every bed just waiting to strike.
Even after the WTC was bombed in 1993.
Even after the USS Cole was bombed.
Even after the US embassy bombings in Africa
Even after Timothy McVay
Despite the fact that bestselling author Tom Clancy featured a fully-fuelled 747 attack on Congress in 'Executive Orders', [Harper Collins 1998].

Despite the August 6 2001, Presidential Daily Briefing, which was entitled "Bin Laden determined to attack inside the United States"

NORAD never had a plan for this one?
If all that could happen and NORAD STILL didn't have a plan for an attack like this - and that's what you believe - then they are most incompetent bunch of ...

But they did have plans.

The truth is they didn't need to know what kind of attack it was going to be. It started out as a hijacking, then two hijackings then three, then four.
NORAD, the FBI, the FAA and the air traffic controllers ALL had plans in place for hi-jacking going back to the early 70's.

But still, not one single fighter came within striking distance - even to protect the nation's most valuable target.

You don't know what you're talking about, Johnny_Utah.

Tok do you think continuing to think that somehow the US is the only reason why Canada is in existence will make anyone take your opinion seriously? I knew americans had an unjustified ego but this is too much. Fact is the US also gets a market for the vast majority of your exports and we also provide jobs for you. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada-Uni ... _relations (scroll to trade)

I'm assuming your as not so arrogant to speak for all Canadians with that statement, and just forgot to add the word "some".

Some Canadians can be pretty damn ignorant themselves, trust me on that one. It takes more than having the right nationality to make someone decent. I'd rather have Bart or Thefoundersinternet over for dinner than some of the racist yokels on this site.

And so what if generally Americans don't know much or care to know much about us, big deal get over it. I bet alot of european countries dont know or care to know much about us either. I think Brenda made this point in another thread about her native country and the hyhena pack with low self-esteem were all over her, it was gross. BTW she moved to this country.

You want to put Canada on the map go learn how to play guitar really well or something and become a success, until then cann it.

This anti-american shit, is really starting to become tiring.

Really? How so? Simply for responding to your own hypocritical immaturity?

And experience or not, doesn't matter. What I said was and is true.

It's all about this crap on "experience". Like you can't talk about a hockey team until you've played on it or something.

My comments really had nothing to do with my Anti-Americanism in the first place. It was an observation, and I'm correct. Canada has a history of Anti-Americanism and resentment towards the USA. And the USA just tends to not worry about it.

So tell me, how does that make me an idiot?

Experience, junior, is what divides adults from children - which is why I think you're a child. Mind, experience doesn't necessarily teach 'em anything. I suspect you'll be in that group.

By the way, Canada has not had an anti-American relationship add that to the list of your mistakes there, junior. A better observation mnight be that Canada has briefly had an antagonistic relationship (and that was between the UK and the US with Canada stuck in the middle as a colony), we had a cautious and wary relationship at times, and generally have a good and productive relationship.

Oh, and you continuing to try and punch so far above your weight class and consistently failing makes you an idiot.
