I doubt the Pope has anything to do with this guy's branch of Christianity, and the Pope speaking out would probably just inflame this guy more since he probably sees the Il Papa as the antichrist.

Well there is the conundrum lies, I think, just because I can should I. I should be able to post pics of a pig screwing your mom, your wife, your sisters and your daughter or insult them in anyway I see fit. If I had such pics or something else right ? I would consider this an expression of freedom of my art/photoshop skills or what not

Now don't tell me this would not piss of 95% of the people here. Now it that pisses you off then there is something wrong with you, right ? When most believers hold their religon closer to their hearts than there own famalies how wouls you not expect some to atleast speak out against this. Nothing wrong with this, just human nature.

The point is just because you can, doesnt make it right. Now I being a normal human being would never do such a thing and know atleast 99% of the peole here won't either. And thats what makes us humans with human sensiblities.

Like I said for me, I don't care either, theor burning the Quran does nothing for me other than show how hateful and ignorant they are.

If you can't see the difference between a book and people, there's something wrong with you.

I have nothing wrong with people speaking out against burning the Koran - I speak out against it myself. Free speech works in both directions. I don't believe in book burning. The only problem I have is with violence, which your brethren seem particularly fond of.

Actually, there's libel laws against that kind of thing as it is injurious to a living person's public reputation.

While I would have advised this pastor against what he's doing because it makes Christianity look bad, what's going to look worse will not be some little fringe group in Florida burning some korans, but the millions of muslims who will predictably take to the streets worldwide to demand this man's death, the destruction of the United States, and etc.

You have an excellent point. The more attention we give this Reverend Moron the more he is encouraged. IF we stop giving him the attention that he craves he will soon fade out of sight, but I understand that it is hard to do. I'm embarrassed by this, this does not show us at our best.

Freedom of speech is one thing, but this is disgusting. I think the good Reverend needs some serious mental help.

Freedom of expression and all that. AS for the extremists--fuck 'em. The editorials are bending over backwards to point out that this yahoo has a tiny following (as the camera pans the empty church), but it's apparent to me from talking to folks that there are probably millions behind him. If he wants to burn books, hey--that's freedom, right. Fill yer boots.

Don't get me wrong--if there is a hell, this preacher will go to it, and deserves to. If there isn't a hell, then he wasted his life anyway. Pretty grim situation for that guy!

Again, it illustrates my point that burning a Bible or a Torah scroll is just fine with some folks, so why not burn a koran, too?
