Personally it shows me how desperate the Liberals have gotten and what measures they will employ to get back . To bad as maybe if they had played nice in the sandbox for awhile I might have seen them as the other guy. While I do not trust a party full of old Rednecks like the reform party and that is what Stephy leads just a new name .
Guess I will vote NDP just so I have the right to complain cause I voted . As far as the senate go's elected or not , and it should be put on the ballot let the majority rule and the politicians have to follow . If elected then all present are turfed and the process starts a new .

Bodah Bodah:
I think Quebec is slowly becoming less of an important factor of relying on their vote to achieve a majority, after the last election how many extra seats were given out the last time ? something like 30-35 ? And Quebec got none of those. The Quebec population isn't growing as it should while other parts of the country is, so that means more seats again in the future.

Besides Quebec will be bloc territory for some time now, it doesn't matter what we do, what we give.

Its a given Harper is going to treat Quebec like the other provinces this time around, like he should be doing. He tried the old formula and lost because Separatists artists where able to equate a minor cut in arts funding to that of ethnic cleansing of the Quebec culture, ridiculously hysteric and fickle if you ask me. The Bloc where able to take that and run with it. Sad to see sheeple swallow it up.

Well put and exactly what happened. Francophone Quebecers lap this stuff up like candy.

What are le bloc doing in a Canadan National Parliament? When are Canadians going to wake up?

Would you like to be told who you can or can't vote for? Like them or not, name one other group that more vigorously represents their province in parliament. Not everyone who votes Bloc is a separatist.

Kinda assuming the Conservatives can still count on their 10 or so seats in the Eastern/Central part of the province.

Let's face it, the Bloc is a joke. Like you said, there are many ''sheeple'' that will take everything Duceppe tells them. Defend Quebec's interest is his only slogan. But at the same time, there is the QC media factor. I know, not the 1st time saying this, but with the several ''biased'' journalists in this province, it's no surprise that there is still plenty of Bloc/PQ support.

Agree that it's time to get a majority or else there are gonna be elections every so often.

QFT!!!

Politics in Quebec is retarded. It's led by left-wing and separatist demagogy spreaded by our fucked up medias. People here think that Harper wants to abolish abortion and cuts MASSIVELY in culture, that's bullshit!

Moreover, the Bloc is a bunch of fanatic and egocentric criebabies. A bloc depute just does what a tory or liberal depute does, but in a retarded way, while belonging to a party that will ensure that the government will tell them to fuck off.

Since Harper recognized Quebec as a nation, they feel like if english speakers should become their slaves and give them all their money, AND PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT SHIT.

Damn, when will people think in this hellhole?

Yes, I find it shocking too that a leader of a political party would actually want to win an election. And to say it out loud too? Outrageous I say.

XD no kidding.

A pretty standard speech to party faithful IMO. Nothing earthshaking that I could find in that speech. Nor was it intended to be confidential. That's nonsense.

The Liberals better do better than that pipedream if they hope to pick up the seventy-eight seats they need to form a majority government.

If Harper did get a majority his true vicious right wing thinking would stun the canadian people.........The only way he can be trusted is having the other leaders have the ability to control him in some way..............The people of Canada dont want a election right now,but they also dont want a con majority............

Well put. We have the right to vote for any party that catches our fancy, be it federalist, Quebec or Alberta separatist, the Christian Heritage Party, etc, etc.

The moment the state starts deciding which party meets some arbitrary criteria to run candidates is the day we are no better than Iran.

How was he being intimidating, he was just stating a fact that according to you Canada doesn't want a conservative majority.

I'm one thats willing to give them a shot, and if an election is triggered. You may be suprise when the "people of Canada" give him just that.

IF a Party is going to represent a group of people in this country, in our National Parliament, then they should be required to run in at least 75% of the Ridings in the country within five years of formation of that Party. Otherwise the entire Parliament becomes a joke.
