That's being a bit simplistic, wouldn't you say?
Their succes is a threat to small towns, small business and Uniones at large. I'd hate to see nothing but metropoles with slave labour.
No, I wouldn't say that. If WalMart fucked everyone, how would they become the biggest company the world has ever known? They aren't perfect, by any means, but they seem to be able to offer shit people want. Otherwise, why would people shop there?
Yes, you are simplifying things drasticaly by concluding that people all across america are satisfied with this situation simply becaus WalMart is so successfull. People in general aren't very bright and do not know what's good for them. Do we agree on that atleast?

How are they a threat to small towns and small businesses? If a competitor cannot offer the same prices as Walmart then they have to be able to offer something that consumers feel is worth the higher prices. If not, why do they deserve to make money simply by existing? If business was that easy I'd open a retail store.
WalMart exist simply becaus they offer products of low quality, made by a work force that has a salary you and I would consider an insult, for a very low price. That's the key issue. Low prices. People do not reflect on what they are buying as long as it's cheap. Don't you dare tell me that WalMart offer quality merchandise for a "decent" price.

And a threat to Unions? Why should anyone but a Union member care anything about Unions?Unions were useful 50 years ago, not today.
As long as minimum wage requires people to have three jobs, unions are essential. That's the only way for workers to organize against systems of slavery.

Slave labour? What are you smoking? People volunteer for these jobs! It's not like their aeronautical engineering firm went of of business when Walmart moved to town, forcing these highly skilled people to work for a pitance. Walmart creates jobs for unskilled people.
Of coars they want a job when not having one, that's practicaly making you a slave, is better than eating garbage. That's just ridiculous. It's outright laughable that anyone would take such a job.. atleast for me. I'd sit around colecting welfair checks from the state untill they change the laws to guarantee a decent salary or I'd be on the streets demonstrating. In that situation a union isn't too chaby. You won't see me working three jobs.

The sad thing is, the people you are trying to "protect" are those that need Walmart the most.
You mean people who get a lousy pay from businesses like WalMart?
