Zipperfish Zipperfish: I'd have been heartbroekn if a girlfriend of mine had have gotten abortion (and there were a couple of times when we weren't careful). It's not so much that I greive for the unborn, but that I have such a massive ego, I can't imagine that gene pool going to waste. That is why you have your "used" socks cryogenic frozen. That way you can share your superior genes with anybody with a turkey baster and 20 bucks eh?

OnTheIce OnTheIce: Brenda Brenda: You do know that condoms are not 100% safe, right? Just like the pill is not, btw. I have always been taught to use both. Which is good advice. Use both, if you can afford to do so and your concerned about pregnancy that much. If the State is going to be responsible for anything, it should offer the best tool available and the most cost effective for tax payers. And you think a religious based decision is the best way to go? This is not about what is 'best for the taxpayer'. This is about 3 morons who say that it is against their religious beliefs that PP gets ANY funding that "might" go to abortions, or goes to birth control.

andyt andyt: It's no fun being rich if you can't watch the rest of the country groveling in the dirt. You got that right, pal. You know, I actually pay people to come by my place after work so I can watch them grovel in my front yard whilst I sip my afternoon Earl Grey.

If you're paying them, then they're just pretend grovelling. Just like that last hooker of yours' orgasm. What you want to create are economic conditions so that you just throw out your scraps in the front yard and they grovel for those. Save the best bits for the ones that are willing to do more for your than grovel. BTW, you just said you have a dirty front yard.

BTW, you just said you have a dirty front yard. I know I'm doing it all wrong. You see, drugs would be way cheaper, but I don't like them so I prefer to pay peopl to perform my hallucinations for me. "Yeah, stick another midget in the blender."

I think the decision that's best for the patient while being mindful of who's paying the bill is the right way to go. I could care less about the religious reasons for this, my point was simply that taxpayers shouldn't be paying for birth control because it's too expensive and doesn't do the best job for the patient.

May I remind you that taxpayers paid for your wife's c-section, her tied tubes, her birth control etc etc, since we have "universal health care"? I'm just sayin...

andyt andyt: PublicAnimalNo9 PublicAnimalNo9: Really? I can't get chiropractic care or physiotherapy witout paying out of pocket for it. You want me to pay for something that is an ABSOLUTE necessity for me(physio) through something that was no fault of my own, then expect me to pick up the tab for some bimbo that doesn't "want that thing inside her"?
Get real! Pregnancy due to rape should be covered, but other than that, unless deemed a medical necessity by a doctor, NOT the one that's pregnant, then it is an elective procedure and NO provincial health plans cover elective procedures AFAIK. "Oh gee, my big, bent of shape, ugly nose is ruining my social life, OHIP should have to pay for me to get a nose job".
"Oh no, my tits are too small and it's damaging my fragile self-esteem, OHIP should pay for me to have bigger boobs."
"Damn, even though we've been taught in school for years how NOT to get pregnant, I'm stupid and had unprotected sex anyway, OHIP should pay for my abortion."
Sorry, not buying it, no matter how badly you want me to pay for it. So women who can't afford abortions should just have the kid and be done with it? Then you'll pay for the foster care that kid might need, or the crimes he might commit when he gets older.

I don't see why subsidizing birth control pills is not doing the best job for the patient (I would like to add that there are more forms of birth control than just the pill), but paying for your c-section or your tied tubes is. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

But then, maybe Brenda doesn't realize you're against socialized health care and want us to adopt the US system.

Brenda Brenda: I bolded YOUR point... And we're talking about an American situation and you decide to bring up a completely different health care system in a completely different Country. Compare apples to apples. Not apples to oranges.

Free care? That's funny that you think health care in Canada is "free".

End of story.

End of story. Ignoring the fact that we have two completely different health care systems. Whatever you need to do to validate your point. ![Drink up [B-o]](./images/smilies/drinkup.gif)
