I was raised on country, schooled in rock n' roll
born with Mama's rhythm and my Dady's tortured soul.
Heh, couple lines of a song I wrote a long time ago.
The problem with the country genre these days is the Nashville cookie cutter stuff. Damn near every new album coming out of the Nashville country machine has the same studio musicians. Rascal Flats, for example, if you've listened to their CD, you might be suprised to find out it's not them playing. It's the same line up that probably recorded Carrie Underwood's last album.
I like selective country. Steve Earle, Johnny Cash, Diamond rio, you know, real musicians and songwriters.
But I'm mostly a rockstar.
