BartSimpson BartSimpson: OnTheIce OnTheIce: I've never seen a straight man have so much interest in gay clubs, knowing addresses and websites all while being very hyper sensitive in conversations about gays. Capitol Garage is a cop hangout, you stupid moron. Geez, you're too damned dense to troll, aren't you? ![laughing at [laughat]](./images/smilies/smilie_auslachen.gif) I just assumed it was another one of your favourite gay places to hang out. I didn't care enough to read into it further. ![Drink up [B-o]](./images/smilies/drinkup.gif)

N_Fiddledog N_Fiddledog: BTW Jared I F3-ed that guide and everything you worried might be lacking in our national pride is in it. Well, with the exception of Margaret Atwood, but what is she but a Canadian cure for insomnia, maybe? Good point about Atwood. Compared to YOUR novels and other published works, I'm sure they are boring!

BeaverFever BeaverFever: Freakinoldguy Freakinoldguy: BeaverFever BeaverFever: Please clarify which forum members because I'm not aware of any anti military types here.
And jus for the record, this article is an editorial not a news article. I know you guys have difficulty distinguishing fact from opinion which explains a lot about you, but this should have needed posted directly into the forum not the news section. No names, no pack drill but, I can name at least 2 that if you'd taken the time to reflect about, you'd have remembered given their blatant anti military bias during certain discussions we've had on this forum. But here's a question. Is it an opinion when a Liberal Minister of Veterans Affairs is so fucking dense he admits he didn't know about anything about a place called Dieppe and then compares it Vichy? To me things like that show a definite lack of respect for the people he and his party were supposed to be taking care of. $1: John McCallum drew guffaws and gasps of disbelief in 2002 when he confessed, while serving as Canada’s defence minister, that he had never heard of the country’s bloodiest military debacle, the Battle of Dieppe.
McCallum followed up that monumental display of ignorance with a damage-control letter to the National Post in which he compared Dieppe to, oops, Vichy, capital of collaborationist France during the Nazi years, rather than Vimy Ridge, site of Canada’s epic First World War victory. But then again given the Liberal Party of Canada's strange insistence on the dumbing down of Canadian Military history in an attempt to, what can only be described as an attempt not to offend any of our new residents nothing surprises me anymore. It is a fact that he did not know about Dieppe and confused Vimy Ridge with Vichy. It is a fact that general public opinion of this gaffe was negative. But the opinions are still opinions and not facts in and of themselves, e.g. "so fucking dense", "showed a lack of respect" or a "monumental display or ignorance" are not facts in and of themselves. Another example, it's a fact that I think Stephen Harper is a jerk, but that not the same as saying it's a fact that Stephen Harper actually is a jerk - the latter would actually be impossible to prove even if 100% of the public thought he was a jerk, because 'jekr' is a judgment and all judgment is subjective. Yes the opinions are still opinions but, the "fact" remains that Mr. McCallum has shown himself to be completely ignorant about the military history of the country he represents and is willing, along with his Party to dumb down every new Canadian to this level of ignorance.

For someone who asserts that he's pro-gay and that he's not a homophobe you sure have no reservations about using 'gay' as an insult, do you? And you've also been the one to bring it up now some eight or nine times when trolling me. Seems it's more a you problem than a me problem so do you a favor, eh? Stop bringing it up.

I will look for it in the Science Fiction and Fantasy section at McNally R's. Think it will win any prizes?

Bart and Ice, if this were happening at a bar and the argument was over who would be in the Final Four of March Madness, I woild jokingly say you two should kiss and make up. Given the circumstances, I think I had best keep that one to myself

Given the circumstances, I think I had best keep that one to myself For the record I keep up with the esoteric bars because some of them, like Dilettante's in Seattle serve up some exceptional fare. Dilettante's chocolate martini is IMHO a near-religious experience. And OTI would do himself a favor by having one. Or five. http://www.dilettante.com/Mocha-Cafe

Just because I think you're a closet queen, doesn't mean that's an insult unless you take it as such. Nothing wrong with being gay, or talking openly about gay club addresses and gay sex like you often do. BartSimpson BartSimpson: And you've also been the one to bring it up now some eight or nine times when trolling me.
Seems it's more a you problem than a me problem so do you a favor, eh? Stop bringing it up. Forget that quickly? Who made the first gay reference in this post? It's always YOU that starts off with the gay talk. $1: Pride (and not 'pride' in what orifice you prefer) If you don't want to talk about gays or gay sex, I'd suggest you stop bringing it up.
