It's a good concept, very interesting as well. If it wasn't for the religious concept behind it I'd probally watch it even. I like some anime shows, I use to be a huge DBZ fan as a kid and re-watched some and still find it a entertaining show. Thank god they bad a english translated version.
As for the article, I don't really see this getting popular. Maybe in the middle east however I have never witness any religious superhero to be anything more than a flunk. Whenever comics try to cram religion or politics down peoples throats it never ends well. They need to just stick to the good old fashioned superheros who have good background, good storylines and best of all there main focus is not politics or religion. It's superpowers and kicking bad guy ass. That's why 'spider'man is more popular than 'christian'man or 'muslim'man or whatever religious superheros people have created that flunked.
They are obviously talented, I mean that's a very interesting concept for a anime series. Unless there target viewers are muslims, it's always best to be open to mutli-culture background or better yet characters with unexplained religious and political viewpoints.
