Mr_Canada Mr_Canada: has moved from ignorant to stupid Stay in the dark, its easier there. You are the one wearing the hammer and sickle, bro, expect to get called on it frequently. You should learn more about what you display. As far as this law goes; You forget its a legal requirement for all foreigners in the US. You think its about race. You think it will lead to race profiling. You think the police automatically will only ask Hispanics about their status. You are the one who seems to think that all the white people in AZ are automatically citizens. . . . You are the racist here.

Thanos Thanos: I'd like all the illegals to take an entire week off from work and literally paralyze the economy of the entire state Better yet, the illegals should REALLY show those bigoted gringos how important they are by packing up and going back to Mexico! Yeah! That'll show 'em!

Yeah! That'll show 'em! I know it'll never get through to you but I'll just have to say that a ham-fisted response designed, on a purely political level, to placate reactionaries and simpletons just won't work. Corrections to complex problems are never addressed adequately by the most simplistic responses. Never have been. Never will be. I read recently that the actual crime rate in Sheriff Joe's Maricopa County police state is increasing, not decreasing. That's because the police are wasting so much time and so many resources chasing (mostly) harmless illegals around that murder/robbery/rape/drug trafficking/etc. are having a field day in the absence of a police presence. Guess that Tent City and pink coveralls routine at the jails were sufficient enough to tranquilize the dummies that only absorb the 30-second sound bites and convince them that the "tough guy" gimmick was actually working. Go figure.

Go figure. You know, as Draconian as some of you seem to think this law is, it is nowhere near as bad as what people have to face who cross the southern border of... Mexico. Forgive me if I have ZERO sympathy for Mexicans who want all sorts of rights in my country while they rape, rob, enslave, and murder people who cross THEIR southern border all the time. http://www.cis.org/articles/2002/back702.html

I looked up the employment rate of the top 100 American cities. The level of economic activity in the USA sun belt is not as good as reported popularly. They are about at Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver levels, which are well behind Edmonton and Calgary. They are swamped with immigrants.
Minneapolis labour force peaked at 74.6% of adults while Phoenix was 65.2%, 2008. Adjusting for old age differences the real unemployment in Phoenix in 2008 was 15%.

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada: Ouch, kinda cruel with that paintbrush there. Not at all. In Mexico it is illegal to fly anything other than a Mexican flag. But they insist on flying their flag in the US constantly. They want Mexican holidays recognized here, but try celebrating the 4th of July down there. They want to own businesses and property here, but only Mexican citizens can own businesses and property there. And then there's La Voz de Aztlan which has been noted by Latinos as speaking for them for many years now. LA Mayor Antonio Villagarosa openly supports it. Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez supports it. One time Mayor of Sacramento, Joe Serna, supported it. The National Hispanic Leadership Agenda (NHLA) supports it. And etc. It has won high praise from Vicente Fox. Now you read it and tell me how 'fair' and wonderful are thse people whom I'm expected to throw open the doors to all while they slam the doors on people who want to immigrate to Mexico. http://www.aztlan.net/

They are swamped with immigrants. Yes, they like to buy MP3 players and luggage. They leave in the winter and come in the spring. They are like birds. And just like birds, they don't understand a word I say to them. We'd be getting yelled at a lot by Head Office if they didn't fill our store constantly during the warm periods. Spring, Summer, Fall... Retail dies at this point. The Mexicans make up for the people who only shop during Christmas. They work in the Greenhouses in town. Outside of the difficulties of the language barrier and they often enter through our store's exit door, I could care less, they're okay people. Just working. Greenhouse? The retail economy is greenhouse based, is that what you are saying.
