If you look at the current cap-badge of the British Army's Hussar Regt you can see a bit of er German influence. I think we used call them 'Hessians'...!

I said exactly that I posted. Maybe I should be clearer. The British Army Hussars have German roots.
See if I would have not mentioned 'British Army' and said Hussars were German you would have a point.
Before I posted anything on this I had already looked at the Hungarian origin of the word.
I merely mentioned that I had always thought Hussars were German. Looking into it on this thread I found out the origins were Hungarian.
