Thank you for your e-mail and the opportunity to address your concerns regarding the poppy box incident at our Cederbrae Mall, Scarborough branch.

Poppy boxes supporting the Royal Canadian Legion are accepted, and proudly displayed at most Scotiabank branches across the country.

Regrettably, in this case, an internal mis-communication about the use of display space delayed the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 13's placement of a poppy box at the Cederbrae location.

Once the internal error was identified, a poppy box was immediately accepted, as it has been every year in recent memory.

In closing Mr. ******, rest assured that Scotiabank has the utmost respect for veterans. We sincerely hope that we will have the opportunity to regain your trust and confidence in the future.

I'm the unfortunate staff member designated to deal with confused and angry people such as yourself. All fifty bazillion branches of our bank have always offered poppies since even before the fucking poppy poem was written. However, one fuck-up and here come the outraged bozo squad shuffling down the street and threatening us with their walkers.
