If it's coming from Alex Jones then it's probably about as legit as when the tin-hats kept on ranting that the war in Afghanistan was all because George W. Bush wanted to pacify the place so Unocal could build a gas pipeline from Russia to the Indian Ocean.

The jerk rancher didn't feel like he had to pay his grazing fees to use federal land for his cattle because to him "federal land" apparently equates to "I can do what I want, anytime I want, and none of you can stop me". This guy's about a million times more similar to Theresa Spence and the rest of the crooks in the Canadian Native leadership who think that the law never applies to them than he is to any sort of American hero. Apparently none of his neighbours had any difficulty obeying the law that this other dispshit does. That it turned into a flashpoint for the rest of the assholes in the so-called "patriot" movement is just unfortunate.

It's not that simple though. There are claims there were fees he was paying to Clark County. There were rights he felt he already owned - either he inherited or paid for them. He was paying BLM something for awhile. He claims it was a land management fee, and that's all they had an actual claim for.

He claims the reason he stopped paying the land management fee was because they were managing his land into bankruptcy, and that was their actual endgame - get the land and hand it over so somebody's buddies could make out like bandits on the green subsidy perks.

As to Infowars you're right. They're disreputable, but they're like Gawker, and this is their Rob Ford video story.

The more information comes out from varied sources the more BLM and Harry Reid are getting buried. That's why their backing out for now.
