Mr_Canada Mr_Canada: As far as human shields are concerned, it hardly seems Israel is completely innocent: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_shield#IsraelThe big difference is that Israeli soldiers will be punished for their actions versus the exact opposite for Hamas, Hezbollah and their ilk.

Oh? $1: The soldiers were convicted of offenses including inappropriate behavior and overstepping authority for ordering an 11-year-old Palestinian to search bags suspected to have been booby trapped. ... The conviction is the first such conviction for what is termed in the Israel Defense Forces "neighbor procedure" – the use of human shields during searches and pursuits, which has been outlawed.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-11807152$1: Two Israeli soldiers convicted of using a Palestinian child as a human shield during an offensive in Gaza in 2009 have received suspended sentences ... "The fact that the court didn't decide to put the two accused in the prison speaks clearly that even the military court didn't think that in this case it was right to make a trial against the two soldiers because what they have done, they have done during a hard war when their life was under a big and serious danger." That doesn't sound like punishment.

Any link for the Palestinians charging and convicting any of their "men"? I don't think the punishment is sufficient either, but it is heads and tails more than the PA would ever do.

Well, it's none of my business what they do to each other until my government pledges allegiance to one of them on my behalf. Clearly Israel has used up its victim status. 138 to 9 is very decisive. Pretty soon it'll just be Canada and Micronesia until the Harperites leave Ottawa.

I know you have a problem with the ONLY democracy in the Middle East and loved your Liberal buddies who regularly gave the finger to Israel while cozying up to terrorist groups, so I'm afraid we'll remain far apart on this issue.

That's fine. You and the bullies can go sulk now. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/wor ... le5831228/$1: This is Israel’s greatest concern – that the Palestinians will become a state party to the Rome Statute that established the ICC and by which it could request an investigation into whether Israel should be charged with committing war crimes and crimes against humanity due to its policies and practices on the West Bank and in Gaza, including its military operations in 2008-09 and 2012. Canadians don't need to get dragged into this, you're supposed to be focused on the economy. Remember? Alienating us as Israel's lapdog shouldn't even be on the agenda.

I'm not picking sides in this conflict anymore because it's become a sad fucking mess.
Just keep it out of North America is all I'm concerned about at this point.

What does a link to Palestinians charging and convicting their own have to do with the example countered to your statement? $1: The big difference is that Israeli soldiers will be punished for their actions versus the exact opposite for Hamas, Hezbollah and their ilk.

Gunnair Gunnair: What does a link to Palestinians charging and convicting their own have to do with the example countered to your statement? I guess you missed the part about me NOT being happy with the "punishment". But it is revealing that the Israelis DID charge them and the PA would never even go that far. Plus, Curt being a cheerleader for groups like I mentioned just bothers me. I'm curious as to YOUR thoughts on this, or are you just being an argumentive ass?

Methinks you're reading way to much into my reply. And who am I supposedly "cheerleading" here? You really need to either go get laid or drunk, maybe both. The only pissy one I see here is yourself.

desertdude desertdude: The world has spoken. The squirming from the anti palestinians is amusing to watch. Pray tell, since "Palestine" is now a state, does that mean the next rocket attack from Hamas means they're declaring war on Israel? States must actively suppress such war provoking activity, after all.
