I was thinking that as a pressed 'send'!

Ah well, I only speak English-English.

Mate and chum are part of my language and it just adds to our diversity.....

That was me! Sorry. Just get so frustrated with having to argue the same points over and over and over...

I can understand that. It's at that point that I 'leave the topic'. Though I still follow it in case the actual topic returns. I do enjoy a good debate. Even a heated one. I have also figured out loooong before forums that others may have a different POV than I. I can respect that. If it weren't for different POV's, there would be no debate!

Your explanation on the use of chum has been accepted. no worries

could be part of the reason why some people have a hard time separating sportsmen and street punks. If you hunted. or collected. or just owned for the sake of owning, you might not be so ignorant.

It is a violation to:... hunt upland game birds with a
centrefire rifle.
[/quote]

Upland game include the following:

* Ring necked pheasant
* Bobwhite quail
* Blue Grouse
* Ruffed Grouse
* Sharptailed Grouse
* Sage Grouse
* Hungarian Partridge
* Chukar
* California Quail
* Snipe
* Woodcock
* Scaled Quail
* Prairie Chicken
* Mountain Quail

Considering the above as a definition the varieties of grouse are all upland game birds. Notice Turkey is not included in the list, yet where I live you can only use a shotgun or rimfire rifle to hunt turkey. Turkey is classified as upland game bird in BC.

Yes it is still legal to shoot Ruffed, Blues, Sharptail and Franklin (not listed) with a rifle (any) in BC. It is not legal to shoot any other Upland Game Bird with other than a shotgun or a bow. I suspect many other non Saskatchewan jurisdictions are similar.

Yes it legal to shoot grouse with a rifle. Should it be?????

I vote NO because there are too many Saskatchewanese/british out there that shoot at the centre of mass.

The problem with you 'english' types is you don't know what a 'fanny pack' is.

Knew a fella that hunted squirrel with a 22short, single shot rifle.
He always shot them in the eye, usng open sights, to not spoil the meat.
He also hunted rabbit in this same fashion. Used a double barrel 12ga. for fowl and birds.

EyeBrock EyeBrock:
Do you really think that the grade-one plonker who shot at this idiot thief on the quad was trying to 'wing' him?

Plonker: has 3 meaning, all very inflamitory.

the revealing part of your quote is the extreme bias that you show. ie the victim is a 'plonker' yet the theif is merely an 'idiot'
