The RCMP has fallen so far from grace over the last several years that it takes the light from grace 100 years just to reach them.

andyt andyt: Guess what, Yogi. These cops were investigated by other cops, who recommended charges to the prosecutor who decided there was sufficient likelihood of conviction to proceed with the case. That makes your high on PCP, 360 lb, weapon wielding, 73 year old man, a very remote possibility. Certainly, that would give a different perspective. Where is your link? So far, one can only comment based upon information provided thus far!

Yogi Yogi: Your statement is clearly based on your lack of experience in such matters! I am not a big person at all. 5'6"-120lb soaking wet. Last time I was put in cuffs, it took 5 cops! The 'influences' I was under, I was in a black-out, I wasn't aware of my surroundings, and I did not feel any pain. ( until about 4 days later) I had a lump the size of 1/2 golf ball on my forehead, X-rays showed that my skull was actually broken. I don't know if it was caused by a boot, or a 5 cell, or a club. To this day, all I know is what others who were there tell me, and what I read in the news papers. And those who wrote the newspaper articles were'nt there! Well, dude, that's the first time I've ever been accused of "lacking experience" when it comes to being put in cuffs!

My point being that 'a person under the influence' can muster a strength completely unexpected for their size.

As I just explained to you - nobody gets charged w/o police investigation and prosecutor approval. So the link you seek is the link provided at the beginning of this thread. It contains all the information to come to the conclusion I did.

He was about 5'6" and MAYBE 140 lbs. Took 7-8 cops to cuff him and stuff him and they had to EARN it

I concede then that the cops MUST be guilty... http://www.nationalpost.com/news/acquitted+afteDid I say that? Did anybody? Usually it's the cops can do no wrong crowd that convicts people just because they've been charged. These cops were investigated by other cops, and found to have a reason to charge them. Cops don't like to charge cops, so the likelihood that this wasn't a case of them just doing their job is pretty high. But, we'll see what happens at the trial. If they do bring forth the defense that this was a 360 lb, crack smoking, weapon wielding senior citizen, well then I guess I'll have to eat my words. Doubt it tho.
