My wife had as a patient one of the Waco survivors, Paul Hadda, and he wasn't even at the compound that day yet he was still arrested, had all of his assets seized, and was accused of murder at the compound during the seige even though he was in police custody almost all that time.

100% of the charges against him were dismissed...after nearly five years. And the government refuses to give him back his assets. Last I heard he had bugged out to New Zealand where they (seriously) took him in as a political refugee.

I can only imagine how this will end. Detroit is already trying to downsize its neighborhoods to try to cut down coverage of services, which means relocating thousands (possibly). Of course the city is buying out those wanting to move, but there will always be some who won't. A story like this will just make the city a lot more heated, especially if police are used to help evict some homeowners (eminent domain)

Detroit is a failed city and the sooner it collapses the better.

http://www.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/05/18/detroit.police.shooting/

Seems the story the police told was total bullsh*t since there's a video showing them deliberately shooting blindly into the house at the time of the raid and the vide shows the cops shooting without provocation.

The Detroit cops murdered a seven year old girl.

I sincerely hope justice prevails but I suspect that, yet again, criminals who hide behind badges will walk free at the end of this.

Potentially very ugly...

WACO = We Ain't Coming Out.

Made for some interesting TV though. And apparently, law enforcement still hasn't learned much for that, this article as proof somewhat.

You commented after the first clipping which had no info saying the cops had concocted the story because your 'boo hoo' button was pushed and you responded with all the predictability of a taco fart.

You got lucky this time - some of that mud you regulalry fling like a chimp chucking shit actually stuck.

I watched the video and see nothing but a Lawyers assertion that the cops lied (given the caliber of the neighborhood I'm not surprised the family disagrees with the cops).

I'll reserve judgement until we have all the facts and or the lawsuit succeeds or fails.

Fault makes this no less tragic, if the officer in question is found to be responsable then prosecute him and the Family can justifiably sue the City, if not then someone has to provide answers as to what really did happen

An innocent child being killed, even if by accident, is always a tragedy.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out and whether or not the cop involved will be held accountable. There are two entirely different stories being told about this incident and I'm sure there are other details we haven't even heard yet.

uwish uwish:
my god, someone needs to redo their weapons qual. Very sad.

Must of been nice to be right there when it happened....

$1:
when an officer's gun went off during a struggle with a woman

What does this have to do with qualification?

$1:
he lead officer encountered a 46-year-old woman immediately inside the front room of the house and "some level of physical contact" ensued, during which the officer's gun went off

Yep sure sounds like he went in with guns blazing to me

People like you piss me right the fuck off. Blame the police right away.... maybe read more then just the title of the article next time.

....you never thought I read more than just the title of the article? It's people like you who piss me off!

Abject disregard for human life is neither an accident nor a tragedy. What it is, at the very least, is negligent homicide. At worst, this is 1st degree manslaughter.
