Come on, it has only been 8 years. They invaded AFGHANISTAN after 9/11.

They invaded Iraq only in March 2003 and they said Saddam had WMD and maybe some links with Al-Qaeda. Both were lies but it was not about 9/11. It was part of the "War on terror" tho.

Anyway, my older post still stand: they can make up a totally unbelievable conspiracy and keeping thousands of people to stay silent about it but they could not plant some WMDs in Iraq to prove their invasion. That's non sense.

You're mistaken in the way you present your argument. No part of 9/11 was a lie. It was incorrectly used as a justification/pretext to later invade Iraq, along with the WMD disinformation. But the actual event was not a lie. Proc is correct and you're the one lagging.

One of the justifications for the invasion and occupation of Iraq (apart from the bogus WMD claim) was the terrorist connection between Saddam and Al Qaeda.

I'm not a "truther" by any means, but I do believe that 9/11 engendering big lies by the US government.

I'm with Zippy on this one. They were definitely using 9/11 to justify their invasion of Iraq. Before and long after the fact. Cheney was still trying to spin it that way during Dubya's second election.
I was living in KY, and most if not all the locals I heard talking about it, thought that's what the war was about. A lot of them probably still do.
