EyeBrock EyeBrock:
Go for it CM. Keep us posted while you are there.

My old man was in the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards driving a Centurian.

I got a few more months before I head over. My regiment usually deploys the recce Sqn. It's B sqn over the right now, my Sqn will be replacing them sometime in 2010.

I think there would be another roto after mine, but not to sure to be honest. Whomever is replacing my taskforce and all the political BS behind it really is the last thing on my mind right now.

I can't see the mission extending, especially after the CDS's recent comments. I can see the Brits pulling out at the same time too.

It's not my job to care about whether it's extended or not, just to do my part in it. Only thing I'll say about it is I have to feel for the people who've lost loved ones over there who feel their family members deaths will be in vain if we leave and the country ultimately fails.

I know where you are coming from but don't be too quick to dismiss those of us who discuss or consider the big picture mate.

The fallen died in the service of their country.

The politics of it all can't change that and in case you haven't noticed, Canadians are now very proud of their military.

Chin up mate!

Bacardi4206 Bacardi4206:
You don't get anymore British when you got a regiment called Dragoons.

Wow, then you'll really love the Hussars.

I think most Euro countries have or had Hussars. It's like Sapper said, Dragoons and Hussars.

If you look at the current cap-badge of the British Army's Hussar Regt you can see a bit of er German influence. I think we used call them 'Hessians'...!

Oh I'm not saying they didn't originate from Hungary. I'm saying everybody had them, like Dragoons. Chill.
