Whether she's Head of State or the representative of the Head of State, she's a great Governor General and I don't believe "her esteem has dropped substantially." At least not in my books. I wasn't enthusiastic about her appointment in the beginning but she's proved herself more than a competent and gracious ambassador for Canada at home and abroad. She's great. This latest is a tempest in a teacup. JMO.
