Silly but a good thing to consider. If organized religion were less opulant money couldf be freed up to help with poverty. The same could be said of the corporate world to though.
It's not that easy. You don't get people out of poverty by handing them money. As for the corporate world, they are those getting people out of poverty already by creating jobs. Less money = less jobs = more poverty.
While I agree that the corporate world does have a lot of money squirreled away, it's small to medium businesses that employ 80% of people and get then screwed over by taxes. These are the people that need to be given deferred tax status to grow and hire more people, not the corporations who get all the breaks, based on employing more people, and then lay off their workers in droves.
The Vatican, should sell off some of its wealth and live like the early Church fathers intended. Poor shepherds and fishers of men, not as princes and kings.
Some claim they're holding everything in trust..... For who, Jesus? Are they going to have a big rummage sale when He returns, knowing a Jew will get better prices than the goyim?
