It's a pretty sad comentary on the voters of that riding.
I seriously hope that when it comes to Hedy Hry, the Liberals can do better.

I just heard Charlie Angus on the radio whining about it. He's an asshole.

But as the announcer said, "the athletes will be able to dress conservatively, if not Conservatively".

The olympic committee does not take orders from the PMO's office and she's(designer) stated it has nothing to do with the Conservative Party. End of story.
What do they want change Canada to Kanada.

Seriously though dont you think Harper is working on more important matters than ensuring the Conservative logo appears on clothes ? Slow day on the hill Hedy what no more crosses burning in BC ?

Someone made a point it looks like an RAF logo as well, are we glorifying war now too ?

What this is all about is the designers choice of a logo, while falsely accusing the Conservatives of interference. Guilty until proven innocent is that how it works here ? In the real world, you'd be able to sue these people for slander.

Talk about one mess after anouther. First we have mascots from the wrong province, then a torch that looks like a dube, and now this  .

Ya even I'm surprised at how much it looks like the consevative logo. I think the real question here is who the hell is approving this stuff? This is the best logo they could come up with? Pretty sad, even my 7 year old could have done better.

If you look at the whole line, most of the symbols are very retro.

When I look at it, it reminds me of the Royal Canadian Air Force's roundel, before Trudea and Hellyer disbanded them.

Maybe Fry and all the others should look at what happened in Canada's past and reflect on our heritage. The roundel is a Canadian symbol and HBC have been in Canada since 1670.

It does kinda look like the Cons logo, but after the Liberals made the national flag look like THEIR logo, I'd say the Conservatives get a pass on this one. :)

Lemmy, my bet is that HBC wanted to use the old RCAF roundel but were denied so they designed something very similar using the roundel as a baseline.

They have a maple-leaf hat that harks back to the old leaf design of the Maple Leafs jereseys of the 1930-40's.

As far as most Liberals are concerned there was no "Canada" before 1982

Yeah, there's only so much you can do with a maple leaf before it starts to look like other maple leaves (or Maple Leafs, as it were).

No, the Liberals date the beginning of Canada with King Pierre's coronation of 1968.

It's a lame logo. They should have used teh actual Conservative Party logo. The black C isn't visually attractive.

Humor: From yesterdays question period

$1:
The Hon. Heady Fried, Smoking, B.C:

Mr. Speaker, is the Prime Minister aware that as we speak, Roots athletic wear is being burned on lawns in Prince George, B.C.? The Prime Minister's design for Team Canada's Olympic logo is clearly behind this surge of clothes-ism across the nation and -

(The Hon. Member was removed from the Chamber by men in white coats.)

$1:
The Rt. Hon. Michael Ignatieff, Toronto-Centric:

Mr. Speaker, the Prime Minister has thought to pull the wool over the eyes of the Canadian people, to deceive, mislead, bamboozle, hoodwink, dupe, con, burn, cheat, hoax, fool, gouge, take in, swindle, scam, skin, take advantage of, fleece and gull them into believing he did not personally design the Team Canada apparel, that bears a striking resemblance, likeness, similarity, affinity, alikeness, conformity, and semblance to the logo of the Conservative Party of Canada.

Mr. Speaker, the Prime Minister may not be aware of the paper I published while at Harvard, entitled: "Sports Logos: A sociological and emblematical perspective with implications for global geopolitical systems and philosophical engagements." I should now like to read the relevant pages in which I demonstrate, prove, show, support, attest, authenticate, back up, settle, substantiate, verify, warrant, witness, manifest and make evident..."
