I wonder what would happen if all of the popular bands decided to avoid booking concert dates in Quebec because they sing in English...Imagine the economic problems Quebec would have if they lost bands like AC/DC or the Rolling Stones.

Then again they could always have a Celine Dionne month..One thing Quebec can keep.

We have Quebec squeezing as much cash out of us as they can while they show nothing but distaste for our Country and culture.

Oliver Cromwell said it well in 1653:

"You have sat too long here for any good you have been doing. Depart. I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!"

PENATRATOR PENATRATOR:
Only in Canada would anybody (IE Quebec) get away with this shit. Imagine if Ontario decided to do something similar and ban French from Canada Day celebrations, the proverbial shit would hit the fan no doubt

I can't think of a single Canada Day celebration I went to in Toronto that included anything French. I suppose French is so irrelevant in Toronto there's no point including it because no one wants to hear it.

Always funny the way that a small organization such as the ''Societe St-Jean Baptiste'', or associated to them, can create such controversy. They are only a few members, thus do not represent a whole lot of the provincial population.

Please note that this organization is irrelevant. They keep provoking and apparently the media bites on it, the QC media as well as in the ROC. It's only a matter that controversy sells.

Time to get rid of the dinosaurs then and present a celebration that's reflective of Quebec's population.

Well if bilingual Quebec Anglo bands are allowed to play we will see how irrelevant they are.

Those are only small extremist groups. Majority of population are against that. The problem is that the SSJB is organising the evenment. People can sing in creole,in spanish, in italian but not in english ! english is evil for them.

The thing that la St-Jean is a french holiday while it's the national holiday of the whole Quebec since 1974. René Lévesque did that. They are really dinosaurs and some hippies with beards playing tam-tams.

Jean Dorion and his bunch are simply bigoted idiots. They only choose to see things their own little ways.

I am in full support of those Anglophone bands playing. After all, they should be able to play if they choose to. And who cares about these ''few fans'' , they are not in favour of it, there are free to attend one of the other numerous events somewhere else.

Last bit of news is that the Anglo bands are still scheduled to play, but the media barely makes a mentions of that. There were QC politicians, and even one from the PQ (hmmmmmmmm), that took a stand against this issue.

The independentist movement will die with them in 10-15 years. When those boomers die. The youth now prefer to focus on their career than on some old utopia.

Actually, kinda sad to see these ''extremists'' always getting their opinions heard. Similar to the issue of the battle des ''Plaines''.

A few should not necessarily speak for the majority. Yet, it always appear as such. Kinda sucks to see the likes of Pierre Falardeau, always outspoken about any ''sovereignty'' issue get as much media attention. Time to get a strong Federalist voice in all of this.

Also don't forget that those same groups were against Paul McCartney coming to the 400th of Quebec City because he was British.
